This article is about the DIVIDE function that solves division in DAX.

Unlike classical division using “/”, DIVIDE does not have a zero division problem.

For example, using DIVIDE, we could calculate the average price of one piece for each row in that table – dividing the total price by the number of pieces.

The syntax is like this. Simply enter columns that are divided:

Note that a blank cell appears in the line where it is zero – which is quite practical. If we did not use DIVIDE, infinity would appear, and any calculation with this column would be impossible.
